Why Article Marketing Is Ideal for Google Rankings

What do search engines want? These days, the key is relevant content for users.

When we analyze the latest algorithm updates, they show a strong bias towards relevant content. That’s the dominant trend.

This is totally different from the recent past when people tried to rank their websites by relying on inbound links.

This was caused by the limitations in the search engines, and their reliance on links to determine the relevance of specific content.

It simply meant that the more links your content had, the more popular it must be. People arrived at the conclusion that if Google and the other search engines wanted links, then they would find a way to provide the links by the thousands, not matter how unnatural this was.

In normal situations, links are built naturally over time. They start slowly, and grow over time as the website of the blog grows in popularity.

This frenzy to build links was the typical SEO practice, and it worked.

Many services and software packages were developed to provide instant links by the thousands, and therefore instant ranking. It amounted to buying your way into high rankings. But this no longer works.

What Google and the other search engines now do is to incorporate a measurement of social traffic and interaction as well as evaluation of content quality and relevance.

But the most important factor is that the search engines can now determine whether the content was written by a human being, or generated by a software program.

Naturally, machine generated content is out. Machine produced, or spun content will contain misspellings, words that are out of context, causing obvious grammatical errors.

The search engines now catch these in a flash and reject the content.

If the content is relevant, it will be accepted by the average reader. It will have value. It will provide answers to specific searches.

Here’s why I still like article marketing, and I do like it a lot! Article marketing actually covers and provides all the factors the search engines now want.

When I write an article that people like and benefit from, it is relevant. I am a human being, not a machine.

And I do my best to make my articles grammatically correct. And my spell-checker ensures that all my articles are spelled correctly.

If my article succeeds, it will get plenty of natural social involvement, and with luck, and some promotion, it will get quite a few natural links.

So when the search engines look at my articles, they naturally contain all the factors they now demand to serve their human searchers best, and so my articles get higher rankings.

So, article marketing naturally fulfills all the latest requirements of Google and their competitors.

Thus your goal should be to write 2 or 3 articles per day that people will enjoy and benefit from, and to promote these articles as much as you can to maximize readership.

The bottom line is that Google will not send their searchers to articles which most people would not read.

But if an article is full of fresh information that people will enjoy and benefit from, because it answers their questions, your rankings will soar.

I confess, I am obsessed with traffic. That’s because after years of frustration trying to get traffic to my websites, I’ve discovered the power of some easy, time-tested methods for FREE, and low-cost traffic generation.

Power of Article Marketing

Why is article marketing still so important to your online business? It’s because article marketing is really content marketing, and as such, it’s the starting point for a number of other widely used communication platforms.

You can take the content of a good, informative article and use it as the basis for producing a powerful video, which not only helps a handful of viewers, but may actually go viral. If this happens, that same content could reach millions.

Now, obviously, not many videos go viral, but it does happen everyday, and it is feasible that your outstanding content which started as an article could in the end go viral.

Perhaps it’s more likely that the information you put in your article may be picked up in social media, by posting it in one or several of the most popular sites, like Facebook and Pinterest.

Additionally, you can post the content of your article in your blog, or website where it can benefit your subscribers.

The keywords may quite likely take them to EzineArticles where you have posted an article rich with valuable content addressing a specific problem. People searching keywords related to the content you posted in your article will find you.

If these people get tips form your article which promise to solve their problem, they will want to get more information from you. Your resource box will promise additional information if they visit your website. Presto! You have acquired a valuable prospect.

Traffic is the lifeblood of your online business. As mentioned above, articles are content, and it’s content promising solutions to peoples’ problems which will bring you the traffic you need. Articles are also the source of content for other forms of communication.

People who come to your website after reading your articles, will most likely end up on your mailing list. You will then have the opportunity to talk to them again via emails, and build the all important “know, like and trust you” to build that relationship which is needed before they will ever buy anything from you.
